Valentine’s Modelling Salt Dough



Valentine’s Saltdough
Ingredients
plain uncoloured saltdough:
- 1 cup white flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 tablespoon cream of tartar
plus:
- 1 beetroot, chopped into small chunks
- dried rosebuds
- cinnamon
Let’s Begin
- Make a batch of plain salt dough if you don’t have one already
- Cover the beetroot with water in a large pot and boil for 15 minutes
- Remove the beetroot and reduce (by continuously boiling) the pink beetroot water until there are only a few tablespoons left
- Put a tablespoon or two onto the salt dough and knead until the dough turns pink
- Add cinnamon and rosebuds and knead again
